UGDC has established its Quality Section in 2007. Ever since, the Quality Section has worked on the establishment of a Quality and Safety Management Systems that complies with ISO 9001:2008 and OHSAS 18001:2007 and successfully achieved the certification on January 2008.
The certification was the result of hard work, dedication, and above all – team work and commitment of all company departments. After achieving the certification, Quality Department's main role now is to maintain and continually improvement.
UGDC was successfully recommended to continue with the ISO 9001:2008 and OHSAS 18001:2007, ISO14001:2004 and Certification on 30th December 2008.
On December 2009 Quality section in cooperation with all company departments achieve with encouragement from top managements an integrated management system (IMS) is a management system that integrates all of an UGDC's systems (QMS-SMS-EMS) and processes in to one complete framework (IMS), enabling an organization to work as a single unit with unified objectives.
The UGDC Integrated Management System has been widely accepted as leading best practice in Egyptian Oil and gas companies, which has enabled a positive environment for continual improvement to develop. The Quality Section is responsible for ensuring the consistent understanding and application of the IMS principles and to maintain its objectives. Audits are conducted every year on all aspects of the company to ensure consistent and effective use of the various systems and standards. •ISO 9001:2008 – Quality Management •Encourages risk management: Provides third party reassurance that applicable laws and regulations are continually observed and that the organization's social, environmental and financial risks are being met.
UGDC Integrated Management System
IMS helps to co-ordinate business plans for the whole company and to align the objectives across the organization, the introduction of benchmarking, best practices, optimum utilization of resources and knowledge, the availability and use of policies and procedures. The IMS is one of the vehicles for new initiatives and has enabled a unique culture to develop at UGDC.
